Optimised Human Performance Pty Ltd (OHP) designs work systems around human capability and limitation, and we hold this website to the same principle. We want everyone to be able to read it and contact us, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification or high-contrast settings.
The standard we work to
This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard the Australian Government's Digital Experience Policy and Digital Service Standard set for government services, and the standard the Australian Human Rights Commission's guidance points to for meeting the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. As a supplier to government, we apply it to ourselves.
What we have done
- Pages use semantic headings, landmarks and lists, with one main heading per page and a logical reading order.
- Every page has a skip link, a visible keyboard focus indicator, and navigation that works by keyboard, including the mobile menu, which closes with the Escape key.
- Text and controls meet Level AA colour contrast. Our bronze accent is used for text only on dark navy, where it passes. On light backgrounds it is used for rules and underlines, with text in navy or charcoal.
- Layouts reflow to a single column on small screens and at 400 per cent zoom, text can be resized without loss of content, and buttons and links meet minimum target sizes.
- Images carry text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Motion is limited to short transitions, which are switched off when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Pages do not rely on cookies, pop-ups, time limits or CAPTCHA, and the site works without JavaScript apart from the mobile menu toggle.
- Links that open a new tab or a PDF document say so.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you about gaps than have you find them. The capability statement and the speaker one-sheet are PDF documents produced for print, and they are not fully tagged for screen readers. We will send the same content as an accessible Word document or in the body of an email on request. Call bookings are handled by Calendly, a third-party service we do not control. If the booking page does not work for you, email or call us and we will arrange the meeting directly. Some older pages on this site are still being moved to the current design and have not yet been re-tested.
How we test
This statement is based on a self-assessment by OHP against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria, using automated checks, keyboard-only navigation, zoom and reflow checks, and contrast measurement of the colour palette. The site has not yet been independently audited. We re-test when pages are added or substantially changed.
Feedback and alternative formats
If you have trouble using any part of this website, or you need information in a different format, please tell us. Email contact@ohperformance.com.au or call +61 412 313 870. It helps if you include the page address and a short description of the problem. We aim to reply within five business days, and to fix the problem or provide the content another way. If you are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can contact us through the National Relay Service.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Australian Human Rights Commission.
